Darkness and Light is a fully hand-beaded cow skull sculpture — a meditation on contrast rendered in obsidian black and luminous white seed beads across every surface of a real cow skull, horns intact. The deep black field is interrupted by precise white geometric patterns: a starburst medallion on the crown, delicate floral clusters along the cheeks, and a yin-yang symbol that anchors the side panel in quiet balance. A single yellow flower punctuates the darkness like a spark — small, deliberate, unforgettable.

The natural bone of the horns and jaw is left exposed, creating a raw tension between the organic and the ornamented. Viewed from the front, it commands. From the side, it reveals. From above, the wide sweep of the horns frames the beaded crown like a halo.
